Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a release.
Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably human blood.
"There is still no clue as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the event," they added.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for details.
A senior representative stated the incident made him speechless and required to be addressed rapidly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
