'Treat game'

She explained his victims were children from difficult backgrounds who were participating in a youth camp which he operated.

She informed the proceedings the man had engaged in this activity with the young males "over an extended period", and minors had previously become sick the next day.
She explained the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the youngsters being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had worries in recently.
The prosecutor continued: "Recently" his family member had concerns about what was going on, with valid cause.
"They chose" to have a look in the defendant's belongings."
Mrs Prior KC said objects including infant oil, petroleum jelly and injection devices were located, and his stepson notified the law enforcement about his concerns.
She said the man proceeded to play the "treat game" with six children that evening - that Saturday - and they were everyone unwell the next day.
"The police had not arrived by that point," she stated further.
The police watchdog, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was investigating law enforcement's management of the events.
The legal representative stated the youngsters were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the stepson contacted the police once more.
She said Ruben then engaged in the "sweet game" in a room of five youngsters.
